Documentary

So I’m making this documentary for a class about a street preacher on State Street.  The man is an awkwardly quite fellow except for when he’s preaching.  The project had started out as a disaster.  For starters we were the only group of three and the only group to not have a car, which is a major issue.  Its a pain lugging all of that equipment and the fact of the matter is that our subject lives in Monroe, which is an hour outside of Madison.  Then one of out group members dropped the class without even letting anyone else know about it.  On top of that the guy we are trying to film keeps giving us the slip or would inform us an hour before he would be available to do something.  But after editing this film it seems like things might be turning out well.

Thanksgiving

I never really understood what the whole fuss was about with Thanksgiving.  Tome it didn’t seem very special.  I mean I’m not a huge fan of the food or anything so it doesn’t seem like its the best holiday.  I know people say its the greatest holiday because the food, but I don’t see what is so special about turkey.  I would much rather order in a pizza and call it a night.  One of the things thats nice is the football games, which I always enjoy watching, but other than please can everyone stop making such a huge deal out of this holiday.

Snow Day

This is my first snow day!!!!  I’ve never had one before.  I’ve always heard about them and seen them in movies, but have never experienced one for myself.  It was pretty amazing although I did have work that I needed to do.  But I was able to participate in one of the biggest snowball fights ever.  I had never done this before and it was so much fun.  I hope next semester there will be another one.  This has been on of the most exiting things I have ever done.  No wonder people from Wisconsin love the snow.

Classes

So its supposed to be my last semester of picking classes, but as of now it doesn’t seem like that.  All of a sudden I feel like I’m practically switching majors.  I mean really I’m just switching from a BA to a BS but now everything is getting flipped upside down.  I can’t just take the classes that I want to take.  You know like your normally supposed to do when it’s your senior year.  I now need the dean’s approval just to take classes so that I don’t have to take 19 credits next semester in order to graduate and pay more.  This is getting OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!

Halloween

It was a fantastic day with laughs and cries.  The cries came after the laughs, but the laughs came before the pain.  Unfortunately the pain came after the cries.  But of course the fantastic came before all of the laughs, cries and pains.  Yes I know quite magical and luckily the magical came from after the pains.  All in all it was a good day.  Anyways we should be glad that the zombies didn’t take over, the Vampires are kept at bay, and there aren’t any close lagoons in sight. So say we all.

Actress

I really need an actress for a film that I’m shooting this weekend if anyone is interested please let me know as soon as possible.  We will be shooting on Friday and Saturday and there will be free food available plus there might be other compensation.  This is a tremendous opportunity for someone who is interested in acting and/or interested in screen acting.  It is also another great piece of footage that can be added to someone’s reel.  If anyone is interested please contact me via phone call or text.  My phone number is 818-516-2801.  This would be greatly appreciated and I would love to hear from someone as soon as possible.

Tired

There has been so much schoolwork lately that i’ve hardly been able to get any sleep.  All this work and no play makes me a dull boy.  But even when I do try to fall asleep I just can’t do it.  I’m not really sure what the reason why is.  I just keep coming up with these random thoughts and ideas, which some are very useful and interesting.  But other times they are just pointless and keeping me awake.  I wish sometimes there was just a switch that I could flick to turn it all off.  Its just so annoying sometimes.

Don’t know what happened

For some reason my password got changed so I had to figure out how to change it.  So thats why it took a while for me to put this post up.  so that terrible week got even worse because of the fact that the next film shoot I had the DP had no idea what he was doing.  He was still figuring out what shots to do for the shoot while we were there.  He was also unable to lock anything down.  I just hope the footage came out well and we will be able to work with something.

Brutal Week

I have had the most brutal week.  Filled with presentations, proposals, and papers that i’ve probably failed.  It is unfortunate because I thought I had good ideas, but I guess not.  I mean I still think they are good ideas they just have to be changed to make sense.  For example, I wanted to shoot a documentary about monkeys living in the zoo and how they relate to humans.  I wanted to study the monkeys and investigate their interactions and how they live their live inside of a confined space.  But now it doesn’t look like I will be able to do this so…If anyone has any good ideas about a good observational documentary give me a holla.

The Second

Alright I know i’m late on this one so here it goes.  Still a little slow with this whole new format and all the other lame assignments that have to be taking over my life for this class.  So i finally got to get some filming done which was really cool this past weekend.  I know I was the gaffer but when its my chance to be DP i’ll be very excited.  Also I need to know if anyone knows how or likes to cook cuz I have a quickie doc to do for a class and i need to film someone making food
